Ramadan Food Parcels 2026

Last Ramadan in 2025, - our amazing supporters, helped us to exceed our fundraising target of £10,000 for Ramadan parcels.

Rehmat Medical Aid fed 250 poor families - distributing Ramadan Food Parcels containing the essential food requirements for the entire month. We also provided each family with hot Iftar meals for the whole family to break their fast. The cost of each parcel was £45.

This year, with your support we will double our distribution to 500 families. The food parcels this year will cost £35 and the funds required £17,500. That’s 500 supporters donating £35, or 175 supporters donating £100!

The parcels contain a range of different Daals, Channa, Tea, Besin, Rooh Afza, Rice, Sugar, Ghee, Oil, Dates, Mix Masalas, Flour, and the hot Iftar meals will be delivered delivered hot and on time every day by our dedicated local volunteers.

Thank you to all of you for your trust and faith. May Allah swt reward you in this blessed month for joining us in this worthy cause.. From the team at Rehmat Medical Aid.

The Messenger of Allah (saw) said:”… whoever fasts during Ramadan out of sincere faith and hoping to attain Allah’s rewards, all his past sins will be forgiven.” (Imam Bukhari).

This year, Ramadan is expected to begin on the evening of Tuesday 17th February 2026 and end on either the evening of Wednesday 18th March or Thursday 19th March 2026, depending on the sighting of the moon. During Ramadan Muslims around the world will fast from sunrise until sunset and abstain from many activities, including food and drink. It is a month of spirituality and the focus for Muslims in this month is to strengthen their relationship to Allah (God) through prayer, fasting and other good deeds, including charity.

There are great rewards for fasting in Ramadan and Muslims celebrate the month by a three-day celebration at the end of Ramadan called Eid-ul-Fitr.

For Muslims, giving charity is a key part of their daily life which is embodied further in the month of Ramadan. There are many examples of verses from the Qur’an and sayings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) which show the importance of sharing your wealth with those who are less fortunate.

Learn About Zakat

Zakat, the donation of charity to the poor and needy. It is one of the five pillars of Islam and it is obligatory upon every adult Muslim with a sound mind and the means.

Zakat is only payable when an individual owns a specific amount of money or savings (nisab level) after living costs and expenses.

Zakat can be paid at any time during the year but many Muslims pay it during Ramadan because it is one of the most blessed times of the year in Islam.
