Breast Cancer Awareness and Screening Project
APPEALS
“We’re dedicated to serving the most vulnerable people in society who have been afflicted by poverty and have nowhere to turn. We strive to provide reactive and proactive medical care and treatment to help save the lives of those who simply do not have the money they require to stay alive.”
Breast Cancer Awareness and Screening Project

Alhamdulillah the Rehmat Medical Aid Breast Cancer Screening Bus has arrived and is fully equipped with mammogram machine, mini laboratory and waiting area and our breast cancer screening service has already been booked by several local hospitals for the day, to screen patients, most of whom have never had this type of scan.
We plan to take the bus to other areas, with the support of the community to help the women of the community.
Early detection is critical to save lives.
We are hiring dedicated female counsellors to help women who may be diagnosed with the illness, to work with the patients every step of the way, and encourage them to seek treatment in one of the free cancer hospitals - and break the horrible stigma associated with breast cancer.
Breast cancer is the most diagnosed form of cancer globally. Pakistan has the highest incidence of breast cancer in Asia. 1 in 9 women are at risk of being diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime and around 40,000 women in Pakistan lose their lives each year to the disease.
Regrettably, the mortality rate of breast cancer patients in Pakistan is very high, due to late diagnosis, delayed referrals, and inappropriate facilities in Pakistan. Due to the stigma associated with breast cancer and a lack of awareness. The key to cure cancer is early diagnosis.
Early screenings and detection are extremely important to stand a good chance of survival.
Our target is to provide over 25 lifesaving screenings every day.
This Ramadan we need your support to make this dream a reality.
We hope to raise funds for a new mammogram machine costing £50,000. We need your support to be able to give people the treatment they deserve.
We will also be supporting training and awareness for community leaders, colleges and universities in rural villages.
“If anyone saves a life, it shall be as though he had saved the lives of all mankind.” (Qur’an:5: 32)
What is breast cancer screening?
Cancer screening involves a non-invasive medical test that helps physicians diagnose a patient who may have Cancer.
Breast Cancer screening uses a test called mammography which involves taking low-dose x-rays of the breasts. Breast Cancer Screening can help to find cancers early when they are too small to feel or see. Early detection leads to greater chances of recovery. Research shows that annual mammograms lead to early detection of breast cancers when they are most curable.
Mammography is the only breast cancer screening tool known to reduce deaths from the disease.
