Providing Clean Water

Today over 16 million people in Pakistan still do not have access to clean, safe water and 68 million people do not have access to adequate sanitation. The lack of clean, safe water in communities effects women and children the most contributing to diseases which claim the lives of thousands of people every year. It is estimated that over 41,000 children die every year from diarrhea caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation in Pakistan. With your support we can save lives.
Our approach at Rehmat Medical Aid is to provide a long-term solution. Rather than simply digging small wells that could help a small number of families in the short term, we want to help as many people as possible for as long as possible.
Rehmat Medical Aid is building large, fully equipped water filtration units that can provide 2,000 gallons of clean water every hour to thousands of people. Each unit is built using the latest imported American technology and has the latest machinery to ensure longevity.
We have now built 45 filtration plants across Pakistan which provide water to communities alongside 30 government schools and 10 other government institutes, including local hospitals. Our focus has been to build these plants in areas with schools and government institutes to provide maximum benefit.

Sadqah Jariyah refers to an ongoing, voluntary charity which will benefit its recipients both today and for the future. In Islam it is believed that the reward for these particular acts of charity will continue after someone has passed away. Providing water and digging wells is one example of Sadaqah Jariyah.
When a person dies, all their deeds end except three: a continuing charity, beneficial knowledge and a child who prays for them.” (hadith of the Prophet ﷺ, narrated by Muslim).
