The cost and time constraints of Dialysis patients and the local community, of blood testing has been resolved with the opening of the "Abdul Hafiz Mogul Diagnostic Laboratory". After receiving the funds, in 2020, Covid Delays put plans on hold whilst efforts were re-priortised to COVID testing, and was completed and opened in August 2021.
It is now up and running and currently testing over 300 patients per month, (Some internal Dialysis patients and some from the local community) with each patients monthly testing costing " £20.00 per month, equivalent to Approx. 50000Rupees", and taking weeks for results, the cost constraints to those Patients that need has been eradicated and the results are available on the spot.
The opening of this laboratory was a proud and emotional event for the volunteers, who much loved the Founder's (Abdul Rashid Mirza), brother, Abdul Hafiz Mogul who was always a pillar of support for the charity from the first stone being laid to its current position.
Before Rehmat Medical aid could offer this service in house, dialysis patients were expected to visit other hospitals for monthly testing prior to each dialysis session. With 30 patients on dialysis, costing £20.00 per test, costs the charity up to £600.00 per month, £7,500 annually.
